Jean and Catherine Depuis moved to Banneux Notre-Dame in 1953. Those in charge of the Shrine were then looking for motivated people to manage the official store of the sanctuary. The young couple will take up this challenge with dynamism and courage, ensuring the good management and development of the business, which then bears the name of "Procure".
In 1959, they decided to found their own structure. The company "Bel-Art" is then created. In 1967 the store moved to the site's main esplanade, a location that we have occupied continuously since then. The commercial activity of the Bel-Art company will not stop growing, allowing the company to quadruple its commercial surface over the years. The latest expansion of the store, carried out in 2000, allows the Bel-Art store to be one of the largest stores in Europe dedicated to religious and liturgical articles.
At the same time, the Bel-Art company has also set up a service dedicated to professionals which is now among the most renowned in the Benelux. Thanks to this dual activity, the company now has a product range of more than 40,000 items. Among these, let us quote the candles of novenas, the medals, the crosses, the incense, the Bibles, the liturgical articles, the cribs, the santons of Provence .
Over the years, Jean and Catherine have surrounded themselves to develop their business: their two sons, Francis and Christian, as well as their daughters-in-law, Brigitte and Marie-Hélène, joined them during the 80s and 90s, allowing the Bel-art company to continue its development. During the last ten years, the third generation has also joined the company with the arrival of Frédéric, Emilie and Jean-Michel. In addition, the growth of the company would not have been possible without the collaboration of our numerous collaborators, some of whom have been present in the company for several decades.
